Reset Method Portal: Terms & Conditions, Health & Safety Waiver and Assumption of Risk
Version 1 · 22 October 2026
Please read before you begin. Reset Method is educational. It's coaching, education and guided reflection, not therapy, counselling, or medical or psychological treatment. Fabien isn't a licensed psychologist or medical doctor. Keep seeing your health professionals and don't stop any medication or treatment. Results aren't guaranteed. Every practice is optional and you take part at your own risk. If you're pregnant or postpartum, have epilepsy or seizures, a heart or respiratory condition, recent surgery, a severe or unstable mental health condition, are using substances, or are under 18, don't do the active breathwork, and see your GP first. Practices may bring up strong emotions, memories, flashbacks or physical sensations. Stop if you feel unwell, and never practise while driving or in water. This isn't a crisis service: in an emergency call 000, or call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
1. About these terms
1.1 These terms apply to the Reset Method online portal and everything offered through it (the Portal). That includes self-paced guided journeys, breathwork, inner child meditations, worksheets, recorded and live workshops, community spaces and membership. They apply whichever product you join through, including Father Connection, The Reset Experience and any future program, offer, free resource or membership (each a Program).
1.2 The Portal is supplied by The Trustee for PC Trust (ABN 64 548 215 467), trading as Purposefully Aligned, Victoria, Australia (we, us, our). Our programs are created and led by Fabien Pataud.
1.3 You accept these terms by ticking the acceptance box at checkout, sign-up or opt-in, or by first using the Portal or any Program (whichever happens first). If you don't agree, please don't sign up for or use the Portal.
1.4 A Program may come with extra terms or safety information, such as live-session booking terms, screening questions or a separate breathwork consent. Those extra terms apply as well as these terms. If they conflict, the Program-specific terms apply to that Program.
2. Educational purposes only
2.1 The Portal and every Program are a personal-development and educational experience. They're provided for educational purposes only. The content is coaching, education and guided reflection.
2.2 Nothing in the Portal is medical, psychiatric, psychological or other professional advice. Nothing in it is a diagnosis or a recommendation for your individual circumstances.
3. Not therapy or treatment
3.1 The Portal is not therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, or medical or psychological treatment. It doesn't diagnose, treat or cure any condition. It is not a substitute for individual medical, psychiatric or psychological assessment or treatment, and it doesn't replace them.
3.2 If you're under the care of a healthcare professional or taking medication, keep consulting them as you go. Don't stop, reduce or change any medication or treatment because of anything in the Portal without first talking to your treating doctor or health professional. The tools and practices are designed to complement any existing treatment. They don't replace medical advice or therapy.
3.3 For individual advice, contact your GP or treating professional.
4. About Fabien
4.1 Fabien Pataud is a trauma-informed facilitator and NLP Master Practitioner, trained in nervous system regulation and life coaching.
4.2 Fabien is not a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor or medical doctor, and he isn't a registered health practitioner. Neither Fabien nor anyone helping run the Portal provides clinical services through it.
5. No guaranteed outcomes
5.1 No diagnosis, cure or guaranteed outcome is offered. We don't promise or guarantee any particular emotional, psychological, physical, relationship, financial or other result. Everyone's experience is different.
5.2 Testimonials and stories from other people describe their own experience. They're not a promise of what you'll experience.
5.3 Words such as "reset", "healing" or "transformation" describe what we aim for, not a promised result.
6. Health conditions and contraindications: see your GP first
6.1 Some practices in the Portal, especially breathwork (including conscious connected breathing and other active or faster breathing), breath holds and emotionally activating exercises, may not suit everyone.
6.2 Don't do the active breathwork, or any practice that may be unsuitable for you, and speak with your GP or treating professional first, if any of these apply to you:
- You're under 18. The Portal is for adults only.
- You're pregnant or recently postpartum.
- You have epilepsy or a history of seizures, or unexplained fainting.
- You have a heart or cardiovascular condition, including serious cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or a history of stroke or aneurysm.
- You have a respiratory condition, including asthma or other significant respiratory illness.
- You're recovering from recent surgery or a recent injury.
- You have a severe or unstable mental health condition, or you're experiencing severe or unstable psychological symptoms (for example marked dissociation, mania, psychosis or acute distress). This includes PTSD, a dissociative disorder or psychosis that you're being treated for without your practitioner's OK to do this kind of work.
- You're using alcohol, drugs, or substances or medications that may impair your awareness or safe participation.
- A health professional has advised you against intensive breathwork or emotionally activating exercises.
- You live with any other condition that could be affected by sustained altered breathing, or where altered breathing may be unsuitable.
6.3 Not having any of these conditions doesn't prove a practice is safe for you, and a clinician's OK doesn't remove all risk. If you're unsure, see your GP before you start.
6.4 We may refuse, defer, limit or modify your access to any Program or practice on reasonable safety grounds. Answering a screening question or ticking a box doesn't count as medical clearance.
7. Possible effects and risks
7.1 Emotional exercises, inner child meditations and breathwork may bring up strong emotions, difficult feelings, distressing memories, flashbacks or other distress, during a practice or afterwards.
7.2 Breathwork, especially conscious connected breathing, can cause physical sensations. These include light-headedness, tingling, numbness, muscle spasms or cramping, dizziness, changes in body temperature, nausea and, potentially, loss of consciousness or other adverse events.
7.3 After a practice it can feel normal to be tired, emotional, quiet or a bit "open" for the rest of the day. If distress stays high, your sleep is badly disrupted, or you feel unsafe, contact your GP or a mental health professional (see section 10 for support lines).
7.4 Self-paced content: Because most of the Portal is self-paced, no facilitator can see you, monitor you or help you while you practise. In live online sessions, the facilitator can't physically assess or assist you, and continuous observation can't be guaranteed.
8. Practising safely, and stopping
8.1 Every exercise is optional. You can stop, return to natural breathing, switch to a gentler option, take a break or leave a session at any time, without explaining why. You never need to share personal trauma to take part.
8.2 Stop straight away and return to slow, comfortable breathing if you feel unwell, or if you notice severe dizziness, fainting, chest pain, marked breathlessness, confusion or significant distress. Call 000 in an emergency.
8.3 Never practise breathwork or meditations while driving, operating machinery, in or near water (including baths, pools and the ocean), or while doing anything else where losing focus or consciousness could be dangerous. Don't take part while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
8.4 Practise in a private, physically safe place. Sit or lie down where you can't fall or hurt yourself, and keep a phone nearby. Let people at home know what you're doing if that would help you feel safe.
8.5 Follow any safety instructions given for a particular Program or live session, and re-read this section before repeating a breathwork practice.
9. Voluntary participation, your responsibility and assumption of risk
9.1 Your participation is voluntary. You choose whether, when, how and how deeply to take part in any Program or practice.
9.2 You're responsible for your own wellbeing, physical, emotional and mental, while using the Portal. That includes deciding whether a practice suits you, getting medical advice where appropriate, practising safely and stopping when you need to.
9.3 You confirm that the information you give us (including any screening answers) is true and complete, and you'll tell us about any material change before taking part in a live session.
9.4 Assumption of risk. You understand the nature of the practices and the risks described in sections 6 to 8, which include risks that can't be fully removed by care or screening. To the extent permitted by law, you voluntarily take part at your own risk and accept those inherent risks.
10. Not a crisis service: where to get support
10.1 The Portal is not a crisis or emergency service. It isn't monitored around the clock, and messages, comments and emails to us may not be seen quickly. Don't use the Portal, the community or email to us to seek urgent help.
10.2 If you're at immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else, or you can't keep yourself safe right now, stop and contact emergency services or a crisis line:
| Service | Number | For |
|---|---|---|
| Emergency | 000 | If you or someone else is in immediate danger |
| Lifeline | 13 11 14 | 24/7 crisis support and suicide prevention |
| Beyond Blue | 1300 22 4636 | 24/7 support for anxiety, depression and mental health |
| Suicide Call Back Service | 1300 659 467 | 24/7 phone counselling for anyone affected by suicide |
| MensLine Australia | 1300 78 99 78 | 24/7 support for men, including relationship and family concerns |
| 1800RESPECT | 1800 737 732 | 24/7 support for anyone affected by sexual, domestic or family violence |
10.3 If you're outside Australia, contact your local emergency number or a local crisis service. You can find crisis lines in your country through the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) directory or Find A Helpline.
11. Release and limitation of liability (to the extent permitted by law)
11.1 Your consumer rights are protected. Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), including that services will be provided with due care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the ACL or any other law that can't lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. We'll exercise due care and skill in providing the Portal.
11.2 Release. Subject to section 11.1 and to the extent permitted by law, you release us, Fabien Pataud and our contractors (Released Parties) from claims for loss, injury or damage that arise only from (a) the inherent risks of the practices described in sections 6 to 8 that you've voluntarily accepted, or (b) your failure to follow these terms, safety instructions or medical advice. This release doesn't apply to loss caused by a Released Party's negligence, breach of a consumer guarantee, fraud or wilful misconduct, to the extent the law doesn't allow it to.
11.3 Limitation. Subject to section 11.1 and to the extent permitted by law:
(a) we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by your own failure to follow these terms, safety instructions or medical advice;
(b) where the ACL allows us to limit our liability for failure to comply with a consumer guarantee (for services not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use), our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again; and
(c) otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim about the Portal is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant Program in the 12 months before the claim arose.
11.4 Our liability is reduced to the extent your own actions or omissions contributed to the loss.
12. Privacy
12.1 We collect and handle personal information (including any health information you choose to give, such as screening answers) in line with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), where it applies.
12.2 We collect only what we need to provide the Portal, assess suitability and safety, administer your account and meet legal obligations. Health information is used only for eligibility and safety purposes, is accessible only to authorised people, and isn't used for advertising or profiling. We use these service providers, which store or process data outside Australia: Kajabi (Portal, checkout and emails; United States), Stripe (payments; United States and other countries where Stripe operates) and Zoom (live sessions; United States).
12.3 Marketing emails are optional and separate from accepting these terms. You can unsubscribe at any time.
12.4 Live sessions are recorded. We won't use any recording or other material that could identify you (such as your face, voice, name or what you share) outside the session without your permission.
13. Confidentiality of community content
13.1 The Portal may include community spaces, comments, live chats and group sessions. Please treat what other members share as confidential. What's shared in the community stays in the community.
13.2 You must not photograph, screenshot, record, copy, share or reproduce anything another member posts or says, or identify another member or their disclosures, outside the Portal.
13.3 We can't guarantee that other members will keep this commitment. Please share only what you're comfortable with, and avoid posting identifying details or sensitive health information. You never need to share personal trauma to take part.
13.4 Community spaces are moderated on a best-efforts basis only. They aren't monitored around the clock and are not a crisis service (see section 10).
14. Community conduct
14.1 When using the Portal you agree to:
- treat others with respect, kindness and confidentiality;
- not harass, bully, shame, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone;
- not give other members medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, or diagnose them;
- not post graphic descriptions of trauma, violence or self-harm without care, or anything unlawful, defamatory, sexually explicit or hateful;
- not promote or sell your own products or services, or contact members privately to solicit them, without our permission;
- not record or share other members' content (section 13); and
- keep your login private and not share your account.
14.2 We may remove content, or suspend or end your access, if we reasonably believe you've breached these terms or put someone's safety at risk. If we do so without a reasonable basis, your ACL rights still apply.
14.3 If you're worried about another member's safety, contact us at fabien@resetmethod.com.au. In an emergency call 000.
15. Intellectual property
15.1 All Portal content, including videos, audio, meditations, breathwork tracks, worksheets, workbooks, text, images, the Reset Method name and logos, and the structure of our journeys, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright and other laws.
15.2 We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the content for your own personal, non-commercial use while your access is active.
15.3 You must not copy, download (except where we provide a download), record, share, resell, publicly perform, teach, adapt or distribute any content, or use it to run your own sessions or programs, without our written permission.
15.4 You keep ownership of what you post, but you give us a licence to host and display it within the Portal so the community can work. We won't use your posts in marketing without your separate permission.
16. Payments, membership, cancellation and refunds
16.1 Prices, what's included, billing frequency, renewal and how to cancel will be clearly shown before you buy.
16.2 The Reset Experience (A$197). Your purchase gives you 90 days' access to the Reset Experience recordings from the date of purchase. We don't offer refunds for change of mind.
16.3 Monthly membership. You can cancel a monthly membership at any time, either from your account settings in the Portal or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future payments, and you keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for. We don't refund the part of a month that has already started or been used.
16.4 If we cancel or change something. If we cancel or reschedule a live session and can't offer you a suitable alternative, we'll refund what you paid for that session. If we decide before a program starts that it isn't safe or suitable for you to take part (for example, because of your safety questionnaire answers), we'll refund what you paid for it.
16.5 Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees or your right to a remedy if a service fails to meet one. Beyond your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we don't offer refunds for change of mind.
16.6 Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to a remedy where a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee.
17. Your account and access
17.1 You must be 18 or over to create an account. The Portal is open to people in Australia and overseas, and live sessions are held virtually via Zoom.
17.2 Keep your login details secure, and tell us if you think someone has accessed your account.
17.3 We may update, change, pause or retire Portal content from time to time. If a change materially reduces what you paid for, we'll treat it fairly in line with the ACL.
18. Changes to these terms
18.1 We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect new Programs, safety guidance or legal requirements. The current version and date will always be on the Portal.
18.2 If we make a material change, we'll tell you by email or in the Portal before it takes effect, and we may ask you to accept the updated terms again. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Portal and cancel your membership.
19. Governing law
19.1 These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, subject to any mandatory applicable law. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
20. Complaints and contact

20.2 We'll acknowledge and assess concerns promptly.
